Healing Is Our Birthright. Wellness Is Our Legacy.

At Holistic Community Acupuncture & Wellness, we believe in a world where healing is accessible to everyone, everywhere.

We are healers, travelers, teachers, and heart-workers. Our mission is simple but profound: to make holistic healthcare — acupuncture, yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and wellness coaching — available to those who need it most, from small mountain towns to international communities across the globe.

 Holistic Community Acupuncture & Wellness

Every person deserves access to healing.

Holistic Community Acupuncture & Wellness (HCAW) was founded on the belief that wellness should not be a luxury — it is a birthright.

In a world where trauma, inequality, and disconnection from the body are rampant, we envision communities where every body, regardless of income, background, or geography, has access to compassionate, holistic care.

HCAW bridges ancient healing traditions and modern, trauma-informed practices to offer accessible acupuncture, integrative coaching, and wellness education to underserved and marginalized communities.

We don’t just treat symptoms — we walk with people through their healing journeys, creating space for physical, emotional, and spiritual restoration.

Holistic Community Acupuncture & Wellness was born from two simple, powerful questions:

“What if wellness wasn’t a luxury, but a birthright?”
“What if we created a world where holistic healthcare was accessible to every body?”

We believe healing is a birthright — not a luxury.

Our mission is to bring holistic, heart-centered healthcare to the communities who need it most: locally, nationally, and internationally. We are here to offer more than services — we are here to offer presence, dignity, restoration, and empowerment.

Through retreats, hands-on healing, education, and soul-centered outreach, we will plant seeds of resilience and renewal around the world.

Together, we are not “rescuers” — we are collaborators, creating spaces where bodies heal, spirits rise, and futures transform.

We dream of building a nonprofit that is as joyful as it is impactful — where travel, service, and sacred sisterhood fuel our work, and where both the people we serve and ourselves are nourished.

Our vision is big, beautiful, and bold — because the world needs big, beautiful, bold healing.

We are here to answer that call.

We are building a world that brings holistic healing to marginalized communities with joy, dignity, and heart.

We serve internationally and locally, offering hands-on care, empowerment tools, and transformational retreats.

This isn’t charity. It’s co-creation. It’s love in action. It’s sisterhood on a mission.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower individuals and communities through accessible, holistic healthcare that is trauma-informed and culturally rooted

Our Vision

We envision a world where healing is not a privilege, but a basic right.

A world where communities have access to compassionate care that nourishes the body, soothes the mind, and uplifts the spirit.

A world where health is measured not only by the absence of illness, but by the presence of joy, connection, and possibility.

Our Core Values

Accessibility – Healing should never be limited by income, location, or background.
Compassion – We meet people with empathy, presence, and trauma-informed care.
Cultural Humility – We honor diverse traditions, identities, and lived experiences.
Integrity – We hold ourselves accountable to the communities we serve.
Community-Centered Healing – We believe healing happens in connection, not isolation.
Wholeness – We support the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.

Our Approach

Trauma-Informed Care

We meet people where they are, with empathy and safety at the center of everything we do.
Culturally Rooted & Inclusive
We honor diverse traditions and aim to make healing spaces welcoming to all identities and backgrounds.
Community First
Whether through low-cost clinics, outreach events, or healing circles — we focus on serving real people with real needs.
Global Heart, Local Impact
We are planting seeds both locally in Colorado and in international communities, bringing care where it’s often out of reach.

Our founding board members are passionate healers, educators, and advocates who bring wisdom, heart, and vision to the mission of making holistic healthcare accessible to all. Each member contributes a unique and invaluable perspective to the growth of HCAW.

 Our Board's Commitment

Together, our board embodies the spirit of HCAW — blending ancient healing traditions, modern somatic science, community wisdom, and deep compassion. We are committed to expanding trauma-informed, culturally-rooted care locally and globally, one person and one community at a time.

I’m Dr. Krystal Kinnunen, founder of HCAW — a trauma-informed acupuncturist, women’s health expert, and holistic health coach. This nonprofit was created to bring affordable, integrative care to communities who are often overlooked, under-resourced, or priced out of wellness.

As our healthcare system becomes more complex and disconnected, our mission is simple.

Meet the Founder

Dr. Krystal Kinnunen
Founder | Doctor of East Asian Medicine |

I founded Holistic Community Acupuncture & Wellness as a prayer — and a promise.

After over a decade of working in women’s health and healing arts, I witnessed how many people are left behind by mainstream healthcare: those with limited resources, single parents, people of color, trauma survivors, and those simply seeking something deeper than symptom suppression.

As a health advocate and community leader, my approach is rooted in compassion, and the wisdom of both ancient medicine and lived experience.

HCAW is the result of a lifelong calling — to offer real healing to those who need it most. Whether serving clients in North Carolina, Colorado or partnering with global communities for outreach, my mission is the same:  To restore dignity, wholeness, and access through holistic care.

Why it Matters

The current healthcare model often fails to reach the people who need it most — because it’s expensive, rushed, and disconnected from the body’s wisdom.

At HCAW, we’re creating a new model: one that’s trauma-informed, community-rooted, and truly holistic.

We’re planting seeds of healing not just in treatment rooms, but in neighborhoods, classrooms, retreat centers, and underserved communities — building a healthier future, one person and one village at a time.
